Applied Ceramics was founded in Atlanta in 1967 as a kiln furniture supplier, and has grown into a world-class manufacturing and technology company. Starting in the ’80s, we began producing FireCat combustors in response to new EPA guidelines aimed at reducing emissions from wood burning stoves. Beginning with our grandfather’s expertise as the chair of the Ceramic Engineering Department at Georgia Tech, we’ve got three generations of knowledge behind every product. A LEGACY OF EXPERTISE

Applied Ceramics is now led by two generations of Mitchells. CEO and Chairman Bob Mitchell Sr. joined Applied Ceramics in 1976, and works alongside his sons every day. President Bobby Mitchell Jr. started as an errand runner in the maintenance department the summer he turned 18, and gained experience in every single department throughout the years. Lee Mitchell came on as the President of Applied Catalysts in 1998, and Chris Mitchell serves as the Vice President of Business Development. The Mitchell family is committed to creating a business environment dedicated to character and integrity—principles that shine through every interaction, from manufacturing to customer service.
